SCENE 1. FAMILY HOUSE -SITING ROOM -EVENING

Olivia 35, A Really beautiful lady, is in a heated
disagreement with her step mum 40s,

STEP MUM

(angrily)
Do you think that if your mother was alive she will take this nonsense from you?

OLIVIA
Well she is not alive and you are not her so keep your opinion to your
self, this is my business.

STEP MUM
It is my business too, do you know how this nonsense you are doing is
affecting your father?

OLIVIA

What nonsense am I doing?

STEP MUM

Why don’t you make up your mind and stop toiling with your father’s
emotions, one minute you want to get married the next minute you don’t.

She storms out. we hear a voice

SCENE 2. OLIVIA’S APARTMENT – BEDROOM

We see the face of Olivia, this is 5 years after the conversation we just heard, she is still very beautiful,
slightly different from five years ago, her make up and hair is perfect, she is obviously wearing a white dress, even though we are just seeing the profile of her face to her
neck, we can see a little of her dress lining her neck, she
is wearing a nice ear ring, on her hair is a small white fascinator hat.
It looks like she has tears in her eyes, she is standing and
starring lost. WE hear the same voice again. this time more forcefully.

FEMALE VOICE
Olivia.

Olivia startles and turns, we see her very well now and the
owner of the voice, It’s FRIDA, mid 30s, Olivia’s best friend.

Olivia is fully dressed in a nice but simple white dress
with a fascinator hat, she has a wedding ring on.
Frida is also dressed for an occasion but she is not wearing white like Olivia

Olivia gently sits on the bed, in this very nice girly room.
A tear rolls down her face. Frida comes to her and sits.

OLIVIA

FRIDA

OLIVIA

FRIDA

OLIVIA

used plates all over the kitchen. AUNTY RITA, late 40s,
Donald’s elder sister walks in with 5 more used plates.

SCENE 4. DONALD’S DUPLEX -CECE’S ROOM – EVENING

A 13 years old CECE, Donald’s only child, she is in her
party dress, on her bed staring, she is sad. a tap on her
door, she turns to the door as Aunty Rita gently pushes her
door open and walks in.

She goes to her and sits, then cups her face.

Then she realizes what he means and he also realizes that he
is responding without even thinking. Aunty looks round the
room, we see multiple picture of the same lady are all over
the room.

AUNTY RITA (cont’d)

You said that you will take out the pictures.

DONALD

Well I lied, I am never taking them
out
He flops on the bed, she sits beside him.

AUNTY RITA
Donald, you have to let go.

DONALD
No, I don’t have to and I will not.

AUNTY RITA

DONALD
She will survive, we already talked
about it, she wants something and I
want something and that is it.

AUNTY RITA

Cece’s life, she is now a teenager

SCENE 6. DONALD’S DUPLEX – SITING ROOM -EVENING

Aunty Rita walks into the siting room, just as Olivia walks
in with Frida.

(excitedly)
My wife, I have been looking for you

OLIVIA

Sorry Aunty, I had to take care of
something

FRIDA

Good evening Aunty.

AUNTY RITA

Good evening my dear
(to Olivia)
I am on way, I pray for joy, peace
and happiness for you and your
husband.

OLIVIA

Frida enter another room that is not Donald’s room.

SCENE 7. DONALD’S DUPLEX -OLIVIA’S ROOM -EVENING

This is a decent room, Olivia’s box of cloth is on the bed,
she walks in with Frida.

FRIDA

OLIVIA

FRIDA

About the sleeping arrangement.

OLIVIA

SCENE 8. DONALD’S DUPLEX -DINNING -MORNING

Cece is having a meal of cereal, Hannah is standing beside
her, Olivia walks in, not sure what to do. Hannah rushes to
the kitchen

Hannah returns with bread and egg and a cup of coffee,
places it on the table for Olivia

OLIVIA

No need, you eat what you are given.
Olivia is surprised but decides not to contest that. She
goes to sit where her tray of breakfast is, Donald walks in
dressed in work clothe. Hannah rushes to the kitchen

Hannah rushes out with a breakfast tray of bread and egg and
a cup of coffee, serves Donald and returns to the kitchen.
They eat in silence.

SCENE9. DONALD’S DUPLEX -CECE’S ROOM -NIGHT

Donald bolts in , grabs Cece as she is struggling with a
nightmare and jerks her until she wakes. Olivia rushes in

DONALD

Cece, wake up, Cece, Cece
Cece wakes, she is sweating all over, then she starts
crying, Donald hugs her and stays with her. Olivia watches
them not sure what to say. Cece stops crying.

CECE

Daddy I want to sleep now.

DONALD

Are you sure.

CECE

Do you want me to stay?

CECE

No Daddy. Good night,
Donald reluctantly rises.

DONALD

He walks out of the room saying nothing to Olivia by the
door. Olivia walks to Cece’s bed.

I am fine, you should go.

OLIVIA

I can’t sleep my self
She sits beside her.

CECE

Are you having nightmares too

OLIVIA

No, but I can’t close my eyes. Can I
stay?

CECE

I really want to be by myself.

OLIVIA

Ok fine. Goodnight
